Will Pedley’s family auctioned his gimmer lamb at Hawes Auction Mart earlier this month, raising money for Papyrus, a charity dedicated to preventing teenage suicide. The prize-winning lamb was initially bought for £600 with the auctioneers matching the funding, before being immediately relisted by its new owner. Will’s lamb was then sold for £4,200 before the second buyer offered the animal for sale again. The money raised from the sale will go to Papyrus, a charity promoting emotional wellbeing in young people and working to prevent teenage suicide. Will’s family thanked the local community for their ongoing support after their 15-year-old's son died on their farm in Kirkby Lonsdale on August 28.
