In the span of just one year, the Boston Red Sox’s bullpen has gone from being one of the worst in baseball to one of the best. The Red Sox currently have the lowest bullpen ERA in the American League this season (3.45). If that holds, it will be the first time since 2007 that the Red Sox have done so. Similar to this season, the 2007 Red Sox had perhaps the best setup man (Hideki Okajima) and closer (Jonathan Papelbon) in baseball.
