When the Boston Red Sox signed Trevor Story to a lucrative contract before the 2022 season, they thought they were getting a complete player. Over the first three years of his Red Sox tenure, Story didn’t have many opportunities to show off his tools. He’s yet to be caught this year, tying a major league record for most stolen bases in a season without being caught. According to Rob Bradford, Trea Turner, Vince Coleman and former Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford are the three other players to ever accomplish that feat. The Red Sox will try to get back on track following a 2-1 loss to the A’s on Wednesday.
