A Boston Red Sox executive has reportedly interviewed for another prominent front office role. The Nationals also interviewed Red Sox assistant GM Paul Toboni, who’s seen as a top candidate to become Boston’s new GM. Romero joined the Red Sox’s international scouting department in 2006. The Puerto Rican native became the international scouting director in 2012 before the organization made him an assistant GM in 2016. The Red Sox signed international prospects such as Rafael Devers, Brayan Bello and Ceddanne Rafaela during his tenure.
