Joe Gooch, 22, was driving a Nissan Qashqai when a passenger in his car was seen to be “paying a police vehicle a lot of attention”, Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard.
The defendant then sped off and police then followed him before pulling him over at the side of the road in Heathland Avenue, Tiptree, in February.
Marie Ellis, prosecuting, said Gooch had previously his licence revoked in December 2023 for drug driving, adding the ban expired two months before this offence.
Gooch, of Green Lane, Colchester, admitted one charge each of failing to stop when required and driving without insurance.
Magistrates fined Gooch £627 for driving without insurance and £418 for failing to stop when required.
