CUMBERLAND [mdash] Jesse Lee "Sonny" Kimmell, 80, of Cumberland, Md., went to be with his Lord on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, at UPMC Western Maryland. Born March 7, 1945, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Jess Kimmell and Ethel Pearl Branson Kimmell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Samuel Kimmell; sister, Edna White and husband William; and son, Michael Wayne Kimmell. Jesse was a boilermaker for the CSXT Railroad, Local 1032. Jesse enjoyed collecting baseball and football cards, playing sports, and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved studying the Bible and listening to gospel music. He was a dedicated member of his family church, Lake Gordon Assembly of God. Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Earlene Kimmell; sons, Patrick and wife Tina, Jeff and wife Molly, and Sam and wife Tammy; daughter, Trish; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at Lake Gordon Assembly of God Church, 569 Lake Gordon Road, Bedford, PA, on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m., with the Rev.
