Andhra Pradesh’s electricity consumers are finally getting some relief after years of being burdened with heavy electricity bills during the YSRCP tenure. APERC found that Electricity Distributors (DISCOMS ) had over-collected money from consumers under the Fuel and Power Purchase Cost Adjustment (FPPCA) mechanism which was discussed in 2023. This refund, around 13 paisa per unit, will be adjusted in monthly bills between November 2025 and October 2026. This marks a clear difference in governance: YSRCP looted under the name of power bills, while the present government is cleaning up the mess and protecting consumers. This refund is not just about money but is about trust, accountability, and putting people first in the government.
