The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced new funding of $60 million to support multilateral efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation in Haiti. The announcement was made during the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week in New York City, New York. In anticipation of the adoption of a forthcoming UN Security Council resolution authorizing an expanded force supported by a UN support office, additional funding is urgently needed. This funding will bolster the mission and its existing support structures while also facilitating a smooth and effective transition to a new model supported by a robust UN support office.
