In a new interview with The Guardian, Florence Welch revealed that in 2023 she experienced a miscarriage complicated by an undiagnosed ectopic pregnancy, which led to a ruptured fallopian tube and internal bleeding.
“The closest I came to making life was the closest I came to death,” shared the Florence + the Machine singer, who was turning 37 at the time of her first pregnancy.
“If I’d got on that plane, I’d have come off on a stretcher.
Or worse,” Welch reflects.
Her band’s sixth album, Everybody Scream, featuring songs inspired by her experiences, is set for release on October 31.
