(ABC 6 News) – It was all about art, music and food on Sunday, September 28, at Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Rochester, as the Village Ag Co-op and Renewing the Countryside hosted Farm Fest. The event was created by Rochester residents, originally from Cambodia, India and Mexico, with hopes of representing their cultures to the community, and spreading the message that it’s important to shop local. “It’s grown here in Rochester or close to Rochester, it’s more nutritious, it’s healthier, it’s fresh, it’s just going to be all around better for you,” said Amanda Nigoncrowley, Executive Director for the Village Ag Co-op. This is the 7th year that Farm Fest has taken place, and organizers say they hope it keeps getting bigger year after year.
