Methuen - John Raymond Minahan, affectionately known as Jack, passed away peacefully at home in Methuen, MA on Labor Day, September 1, 2025, at the age of 90, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Lawrence, MA, John was the cherished son of Raymond and Madeline (Baudo) Minahan. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1953 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958, stationed in Georgia. Throughout his life, John held a variety of roles—from working at the Lawrence Shoe Shop to ushering at Holy Rosary Church—but found his calling as a skilled metal fabricator at Davis & Furber Machine Co. in Andover. After retirement, he continued to serve his community as a security guard. John married the love of his life, Patricia (Silvestro), in 1958, and together they shared 67 beautiful years filled with devotion, laughter, and family. A man of many passions, he played the bugle with pride in the Chieftains Drum & Bugle Corps, a talent he began at age 16. He also enjoyed bowling in local leagues and was known for his warm spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Sally Minahan; his daughter Donna Marie Minahan-Goulet and her husband Bart of Methuen, MA; his daughter-in-law Nannette Minahan of Manchester, NH; his sister Sandra Bongiorno of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Hayley, and Damien; his great-granddaughters, Morgan, Olivia, and Amelia; and his devoted caretaker, Casey, who provided him with exceptional care. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Shrine, 28 Union Street, Lawrence, MA, with burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 55 Hideaway Lane, Methuen, MA.
