New London - On August 18th, the world said goodbye to Patricia A. Stadler (Chmura) undoubtedly one of the loveliest, most caring people to bless this earth. Known as Pat, Patricia, "Chatty Patty", or Mrs. Stads, she was sure to bring laughter and a smile to all those who knew her. Born in Holyoke, MA fittingly on Valentine's day 1944, she was the only child to Mitchell and Alice Chmura of Indian Orchard, MA. From a young age, she began crafting her "social butterfly" skills and spent her entire youth making a positive impact on people through simple kindness. After graduating Catholic high school she worked in various secretarial roles before meeting, William (Bill) Stadler, who she wed in 1967. Together they forged a life together beginning in the basement of a Long Island home in New York as Bill worked for an airline. As life took shape, they moved to Ipswich, MA in 1970 where they had their son and only child, Jason. Agreeing that Jason was going to need a lot of attention (yes, I'm writing this), it was decided Pat would become a stay-at-home mom. Five years later Bill got a new job and they moved to Oklahoma only to return to North Andover, MA in 1979 where their impact was fully felt. Together they built a house where Pat exhibited her green-thumb skills taking much care of her lawn and talking endlessly to anyone who walked by. They spent 30 amazing years together making lifelong friends, hosting parties, and supporting Jason in all of his sports and activities. In 2009, sadly Bill passed. Nevertheless, Pat remained in the home and became the "Matriarch" of the street. She loved her neighbors and they her. While she gave the Stonecleave home a good run for 45 years, in November of 2024, Pat decided the house was just too much and moved to a condo in New London, NH where her son, his wife, Laurie, and 2 granddaughters, Maya (23) and Addyson (21) resided. The multi-unit condo complex was perfect and "Chatty Patty" made an immediate impact as she befriended fellow residents by simply listening and talking. She loved playing bingo and enjoyed coffee time. But more importantly, the move brought her within walking-distance of her family who visited her almost daily and shared some lost time with her new proximity. Pat's passing has left an enormous hole in the hearts of many. She touched everyone she met through her simple kindness and giving spirit. She wanted for nothing more than people to be happy and enjoy the gift of conversation. Her simple wish would be for those reading this to reach out to those you love and spend time with them loving and laughing together. Pat's family will be reliving the good times as they host a Celebration of Life on October 19th from 1-5pm at The Loft in North Andover.
