North Andover - Dorothy Cox McInnis, 101, of Haverhill, MA, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on September 11, 2025.
She was born October 28, 1923, in Elmira, NY to the late Frank and Beatrice Cox.
Dorothy was married to her beloved husband, Allan McInnis, for 35 years until his passing in 1998. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and love. They raised two devoted children, Marion McInnis Donahue and Frank McInnis, who remained by her side and lovingly cared for her throughout her long and blessed life with the support of her son-in-law, Kevin Donahue.
Born into a family of five children, Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers Frank Cox and Robert Cox, and her sister, Mary Lou McGarrell. She is survived by her two loving children, Marion Donahue and husband Kevin and her son Frank McInnis. Continuing survivors is her beloved sister, Eleanor Woodward with whom she shared a lifelong bond. She also leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including close to 75 nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was known by all as the sweetest mother, a woman of deep kindness and compassion. She was always the first to lend a hand, quick to encourage, and steadfast in her faith. She never spoke an unkind word, avoided gossip, and gave glory to the Lord in all things. Her bright eyes, radiant smile, and angelic presence touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael Parish in North Andover on Friday September 19, 2025, at 10 a.m. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St. North Andover, MA 01845.
