Hong Kong said its airport will remain open, but operations will be limited.
Yeung Tat-wing, Director of Service Delivery at the Hong Kong Airport Authority, stated that flight operations would be sharply reduced after 6 p.m. (1000 GMT) on Tuesday, with most flights affected on Wednesday.
The airline has cancelled three long-haul departures from Hong Kong on the morning of 23 September, CX383 to Zurich, CX880 to Los Angeles, and CX844 to New York-JFK.
In addition to Cathay Pacific, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Scoot, and several other carriers have also suspended flights to and from Hong Kong due to Super Typhoon Ragasa, sources said.
“As Hactl, I expect Super Typhoon Ragasa to impact cargo operations at Hong Kong, even though the airport remains open.
