Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) handled a shipment of Manila clams on 22 September, originating in Thailand and bound for Shenzhen, through the newly launched Air-Land Fresh Lane. A “Certificate of Non-manipulation” issued by the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department enabled the cargo to cross the border without delay. According to Hactl, the successful handling demonstrated the reliability of the Air-Land Fresh Lane and showed how shippers can simplify bookings and improve efficiency. The new service complements the offerings of Hacis, Hactl’s wholly owned subsidiary, which operates SuperLink China Direct, providing scheduled bonded road-feeder services between Hong Kong International Airport and mainland China. The lane expands shipment options for perishable goods for airlines and freight forwarders.
