Deon Etchison Thompson, 86, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 23, 1938, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Walter “Jip” and Lottie Brown Etchison. Deon adored her special kitty, Baby, who showed up when she was sick and needed her the most. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House, 1325 Mecklenburg Hwy., Mooresville, NC 28115. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the Thompson family.
