According to recent reports, the National Authority for Tunnels in Egypt has entrusted CAF with three significant contracts exceeding €450 million. These agreements focus on upgrading and maintaining trainsets for Cairo Metro’s Line 2, as well as ensuring the upkeep of Line 1’s trainsets. The modernization efforts will extend the lifespan of 39 trainsets on Line 2 by an additional two decades. The Shubra workshop is set to receive upgrades that will facilitate these modernization efforts alongside ongoing maintenance tasks. Furthermore, CAF is committed to providing full maintenance services for the Line 2 trains over a decade-long period.
