In what was a de facto district preview, the Madras girls cross country team finished second to The Dalles, while the Buffalo boys took third. The Bridgette Nelson race, held at Sorosis Park in The Dalles on Friday, Sept. 26, featured four of the five Tri-Valley Conference teams, all but Gladstone. Sandy, Heppner, Corbett and Portland Christian also competed as teams in the girls race. Zoe Kollen was the fourth Buffalo in, crossing in 24:37.7, taking 26th out of 54 runners. Deklyn Parton was the second Buffalo in, with a 18:44.4, taking 13th.
