Niles man killed in two-vehicle Pokagon Township crash Published 6:38 pm Sunday, September 28, 2025Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...POKAGON TOWNSHIP — A 52-year-old Niles man was killed and a 53-year-old Sault Sainte Marie man was injured Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in Pokagon Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 6:44 p.m. Saturday, deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal, two-vehicle crash at the intersection of M 51 Highway and Crystal Springs Street in Pokagon Township. Lounds was transported by EMS to South Bend Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger of the at fault vehicle, Justin Zeitler (24yrs of South Bend, IN) was transported by EMS to South Bend Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash. Assisting Agencies were SMCAS Ambulance, Pokagon Fire, Indian Lake Fire, Michigan State Police, and Pokagon Tribal Police.
