Former Cliftonville boss McLaughlin’s departure comes after Saturday’s 2-0 reverse against Crusaders at Mourneview Park, the Lurgan Blues’ ninth straight league defeat which leaves them bottom of the Sports Direct Premiership table, nine points off Portadown and Bangor above them. Former Glentoran boss Warren Feeney may also be available while Lurgan Blues legend Glenn Ferguson is academy chief at Linfield. A Glenavon statement on Sunday night said: “Glenavon FC can confirm the departure of manager Paddy McLaughlin this evening. “The club would like to express its gratitude to Paddy for his contributions.”Derry man McLaughlin, who previously left Cliftonvile to take up a backroom role at Derry City, replaced Stephen McDonnell as Glenavon boss in November 2024 on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
