The Welder keyboard is a mechanical keyboard with RGB backlit keys and a special feature – a built-in 12.8 inch touchscreen display that makes this input device look more like a widescreen laptop than a standard keyboard. Interestingly, this is the second crowdfunding campaign I’ve seen recently to feature a keyboard + 12.8 inch display. Both have 12.8 inch, 1920 x 720 pixel, 60 Hz displays with support for 10-finger touch input, 180 degree hinges, and RGB backlit keys. The main difference is that the Welder keyboard has a mechanical keyboard with “Satellite-style Sakura switches” and removable, swappable keycaps. The 84-key keyboard measures 325 x 144 x 44mm 12.8″ x 5.7″ x 1.7″ and weighs 1.5 kg (3.3 pounds.
