The season has gone poorly for Florida since its season-opening 55-0 win over Long Island with three straight losses by the Gators imperiling the job of fourth-year head coach Billy Napier. Last year’s 49-17 win by Texas over Florida in Austin was the fourth matchup in the all-time series and the first game between the two programs since the Longhorns beat the Gators 26-0 in Gainesville in 1940. Texas is 3-0-1 against Florida, including a 7-7 tie in Austin in 1924. Kickoff in Gainesville is at 2:30 p.m. Central on ESPN, the conference revealed on Saturday.
