['Kartik Krishnaiyer']
The Boca Raton Tribune
The NHC has discontinued the Tropical Storm Watch for the East Coast of FloridaThe National Hurricane Center (NHC) officially upgraded Tropical Depression Nine to Tropical Storm Imelda, earlier this afternoon making it the next named storm of the season.
However, due to a change in forecast path more toward the north and eventually the east, all Tropical Storm Warnings for the Florida East Coast have been discontinued as of 5 pm ET.
Imelda is currently moving through the central and northwestern Bahamas, which are under Tropical Storm Warnings.
This northward trajectory at an advanced speed is why the watches were dropped for the Florida East Coast.
