Placing three golfers among the top four finishers, The University of Texas at Dallas women’s golf team won its first American Southwest Conference championship on April 20, outdistancing two-time defending champion the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor by 19 strokes at The Hideout Golf Club in Brownwood, Texas.
Lindy Patterson was the top individual finisher for the Comets, placing second — one shot behind medalist Sydney McConnell of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Karen Alvarez, the Comets’ top player after the first round, closed out the event in third place.
Patterson, Alvarez and Langer earned All-ASC tournament team honors.
The Comets will next play in their first NCAA Division III National Championship tournament, which is scheduled for May 11-14 in Lansing, Michigan.
