Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the University’s varsity athletics esports team spent its entire season meeting, practicing and competing online, rather than in person. “Bringing home our second national championship in three years is pretty awesome,” said Greg Adler, UT Dallas head coach and director of esports. “It’s one of the reasons we added Smash to the UT Dallas esports program in the first place — the players have a lot of potential.
