The University of Texas at Dallas received the 2023 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education. This is the first year UT Dallas has been named as a HEED Award recipient. “I am honored to accept this prestigious HEED Award on behalf of our university; however, it does not belong to any one person. “The HEED Award has been a goal since I started at UTD,” said Dr. Yvette E. Pearson, vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion. “We take a detailed approach to reviewing each application in deciding who will be named a HEED Award recipient.
