The song Brian Wilson claimed no one could resist
['Tim Coffman']
Far Out Magazine
The song Brian Wilson claimed no one could resistBrian Wilson seemed to be put on this Earth to make people happy every time he walked into the studio.
But despite his presence elevating pretty much any song he worked on, there were bound to be tunes that didn’t resonate with everybody.
But whereas that song had a foreboding atmosphere, ‘Good Vibrations’ took everything profoundly strange about Pet Sounds and turned it into a bite-sized symphony of pop music, complete with theremin, cellos and those signature harmonies.
The first time I heard Good Vibrations on the radio I cried my eyes out.” But it’s about more than the catchy melodies as well.
Was Wilson thinking that hard about where his music was going to lead to?
