The Poetry Society is proud to be a part of A New Direction’s Primary Arts programme, bringing live poetry performances and workshops to primary schools and SEND settings in London. Primary Arts is a free creative arts programme that aims to increase access to high quality, inspiring arts, cultural & creative opportunities for pupils and staff in London’s state mainstream and SEND primary schools. In The Poetry Society’s offer, Poetry Jam Jar, our poets deliver participatory school workshops that take a collaborative, curiosity-driven and sensory approach to creative writing. Each class generates ideas and lines of poetry in their writing workshops, which are placed in the Poetry Jam Jar. ‘Poetry Jam Jar’ is one of ten offers available for schools to book as part of the In-Schools Touring strand.
