After a 2-year-old boy's drowning death during a bath at a home in Placentia prompted an investigation Tuesday, police revealed the toddler's mother tried to harm herself after she tried CPR on the child. "The child was unresponsive and the mother attempted CPR," said Lt. Joe Connell with the Placentia Police Department. "When CPR did not work the mother at that point in time, (she) harmed herself with a sharp object." Until Beisel was taken into custody, she had barricaded herself in the bathroom with her unresponsive son for six hours. Be vigilant if you have to step out where you have a young one in water," Connell said.
