A deadly crash shut down multiple lanes of Interstate 5 near Camp Pendleton on Monday morning, causing traffic delays for those en route to San Diego County. The crash was reported at about 12:30 a.m. Monday on the southbound side of the freeway near Basilone Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP said a pedestrian crossed northbound lanes and entered the southbound lanes when a 21-year-old Fontana man driving a Ford Mustang struck him.
