Investigators have identified the man they believe shot and killed a woman in a Carlsbad parking lot on Friday night. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said the suspect was 31-year-old Andre Anthony Matijasevic, who was himself killed later by law enforcement that same night. When officers arrived, they found the woman and began lifesaving measures but she died at the scene, according to Carlsbad Police. Investigators determined the victim’s vehicle was stolen after the shooting and was driven to Orange County. After a pursuit, and a traffic stop, Matijasevic was struck by gunfire and died from his injuries, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
