If the Padres beat the Brewers, the team with the best record in baseball, the Friar Faithful would be celebrating a trip to the playoffs. The only other time the Padres have gone to the playoffs in two straight years was 2005-06. The Padres scored the first run of the night in a wacky way. Caleb Durbin singled to left to bring in one run, and Christian Yelich singled up the middle to plate two more and give Milwaukee a 3-1 lead. Jeremiah Estrada had an interesting 8th inning, allowing a walk and a single before striking out Joey Ortiz to end the inning.
