At least 13 people were killed in an accident involving a 14-seater PSV and a trailer along the busy Nairobi-Nakuru highway on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Police said three others were left with injuries in the accident that took place at the Kariandusi area near Gilgil. The accident led to a huge traffic build-up up from Kikopey area, as officers tried to clear the wreckage on Sunday afternoon. The latest accident took place just hours after six people, including occupants of an ambulance died along a few kilometres away along the same highway. In a separate incident, an accident happened along the same road at Gilgil, triggering a major traffic snarl-up on the busy highway.
