The Sons of the Republic of Texas are seeking qualified men with whom to organize the new Rusk County James Pinckney Henderson chapter. The origins of this historic group began with the actual veterans of the battles for the Republic of Texas. The Sons of the Republic of Texas has no political agenda and is not affiliated with any group that aims to secede from the United States. Considering the many ties the families of Rusk County have to the years of the Republic, Henderson would be an excellent host for a new chapter. Dr. Owens and current SRT members will be on hand to provide information, answer questions, and help locate documents that will determine qualification.
