Spread the loveAt St. Mary’s County Animal Services located in Lexington Park, Maryland, a litter of seven newborn puppies were found abandoned on Friday in a cardboard box. The puppies were estimated to be no more than a few hours old; a simple handwritten plea for help had been left in the box with them. It is no one’s intention to bash anyone, but the shelter is reaching out to raise awareness. The staff and volunteers are incredibly glad the puppies have made it to the shelter, but this is definitely not the way to surrender pets – especially puppies. Did the mother dog have a medical emergency or were the puppies taken away from her?
