The Philly Ratha Yatra Festival took place on Saturday along the Ben Franklin Parkway. Known as the Festival of Chariots, the celebration blends music, food, culture, and spirituality. The daylong event began with a colorful parade, that kicked off at 16th Street and the Parkway, featuring a flower-adorned chariot of Lord Jagannatha. Organizers say the event is designed to feed “the body, mind, and soul,” while welcoming both longtime devotees and curious newcomers. The Festival of Chariots has become one of the city’s most colorful and spirited gatherings, drawing crowds each year to celebrate community, culture, and traditions.
