Jamie Meiburg, owner and operator of Library Riot, is not a newcomer to the world of nightlife. He started in the bar business at 18 for the original Rikenjak’s, serving as the doorman, “cleaning guy” and bar back before working his way up to management. “We had a lot of outpouring of friends and regulars coming out and helping us get back on our feet and back in business,” Meiburg said. Library Riot had previously been located next to Martini’s on Ryan Street. Safe spaceMeiburg said it was important to him and Blocker to create a safe space — particularly for those in the LGBTQ+ community — when they created Library Riot.
