Pakistan’s trade with Central Asian states, along with Afghanistan and Azerbaijan, grew to $2.41 billion in FY25, compared to $1.92 billion in the previous year. Afghanistan remained Pakistan’s biggest trading partner in the region, with exports reaching $1.39 billion and imports recorded at $612.5 million. Kazakhstan also showed strong growth as a trading partner, with Pakistan’s exports rising to $250.8 million. Central Asian countries had a total global trade of $318.01 billion in FY24, but Pakistan’s share was still less than $0.5 billion, showing large untapped potential. Pakistan-Central Asia transit trade reached $410 million in FY25, showing increasing use of Pakistan’s routes for regional trade.
