Tendring Council formally adopted the strategy on Friday, September 26, following a public consultation.
The strategy focuses on tackling the root causes of poor health, improving wellbeing, promoting healthier lifestyles, supporting those with long-term conditions, and preventing suicide.
"Backed by a plan, it sets out how we’ll work with others to tackle the root causes of poor health in Tendring.
The council will begin delivering the strategy through a series of pilot projects and quick wins, supported by funding from Essex County Council.
Having a health and wellbeing strategy as the council works through the Local Government Reorganisation process will allow residents to be supported while any new council establishes its own strategy.
