CORK legend Patrick Horgan has announced his retirement from inter-county hurling after an 18-year career. Cork reached the last two All-Ireland finals but lost out to their Munster rivals Clare and Tipperary respectively. The Glen Rovers clubman also won three Munster minor medals and an U21 provincial title. He steps away a matter of weeks after Cork manager Pat Ryan announced his resignation, with Horgan’s former team-mate Ben O’Connor taking over. I will always be grateful for the support the Cork people have given our team in good times and bad.
