Allen beat Jiang Jun 4-1 in his first-round game on Tuesday evening, one that was held over due to Allen’s involvement in Sunday’s final of the BetVictor English Open against Zhou Yuelong. Breaks of 76, 50 and 70 wrapped up a win against Jiang and he is back on the baize on Wednesday morning against Bulcsu Revesz of Hungary. The reward for the winner is an encounter with Mark Williams for a place in the last 16. McGuigan, meanwhile, awaits the winner of Wednesday morning’s round-two game between Reanne Evans and Ben Mertens.
