Hawai‘i Island police are investigating a January 11 robbery that occurred in front of a business in the 200 block of Kanoelehua Avenue in Hilo. The victim said one suspect kicked him in the jaw, after which the other two joined in and repeatedly struck him. The victim was transported to Hilo Benioff Medical Center and treated for a fractured jaw and a concussion. One suspect was described as a local male in his 20s to 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing 220 pounds. A description of the third male suspect was not available.
