MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Monongalia County Board of Education continues to advocate for more public involvement in the County Schools Excess Levy Executive Committee.
Amenities that make the Monongalia County School System stand out in comparison to others in the Mountain State.
“I mean, the things we can offer to our children, a big part of that comes from the excess levy,” said Mon County BOE member Shawn Smith.
Even though the Monongalia County Schools Excess Levy has been passed by county voters for over 50 years, board members and school administrators still encourage residents to vote to support local education.
“Get out and vote, have your voice be heard, and as far as the excess levy goes, if you’re for the kids and you’re for the teachers and for the community, then get out and vote.”
