A convicted criminal who put a woman with cancer through an ordeal also attacked police officers who came to her aid when she called 999. Jordan Rouse assaulted the victim, brandished a machete, called her names, threw rubbish on her and smashed a television. Prosecutor Anna Chisholm said Rouse called her “fat and lazy” and that she “could not cook” or “keep the house tidy”. The court heard Rouse threw a brush and pushed another officer. Rouse pled guilty to a total of six charges, including assaulting both the woman and one of the officers to the danger of their lives.
