Cashel Chamber of Commerce says it does not support how decisions on the date and format of the Cashel St Patrick’s Day parade were reached. The events are planned for Saturday March 14th. Earlier today the Parade Committee Chair Sean Laffey announced that the Committee wanted to deliver a mini festival type event with music and entertainment in the Plaza from 2pm and that the Parade would commence from the Cahir Road at 4.30pm and would likely be over by 6pm. In a statement this afternoon Cashel Chamber says it is disappointed that the views and concerns raised have not been meaningfully taken on board before positions were confirmed. It is understood that the Chamber intended to attend last Wednesday’s parade planning meeting which was cancelled due to a bereavement.
