His attorney, Abbe Lowell, said in a statement early this morning: ‘Don Lemon was taken into custody by federal agents last night in Los Angeles, where he was covering the Grammy Awards. Lemon, who was pictured alongside rapper Busta Rhymes ahead of this weekend’s Grammys hours before his arrest, was filming protestors at the time. ‘There’s a Constitution and a First Amendment, and freedom of speech and freedom to assemble and protest,’ Lemon was heard saying. Initially, American television journalist Lemon was among eight people the Trump administration sought to charge over the protest, but the charges were rejected by a magistrate judge.
