Olympic medal-winning sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was arrested in Florida on Thursday after allegedly driving more than 100 mph.
The 25-year-old track star was taken into custody outside Orlando and booked into the Orange County Jail on a charge of dangerous excessive speeding.
Richardson was “dangerously tailgating and traveling across lanes of travel to pass other motorists,” an Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson told TMZ.
Richardson won a gold medal with Team U.S. in the 4×100-meter relay at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
After initially qualifying for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, she was later disqualified after testing positive for THC during a post-race drug test.
