North Tyneside project manager, Katherine Rowena Mitchell - known as Kate - was killed in a hotel room in Kenya by an intruder who then "fell or jumped" from the window. The coroner concluded that Kate was "unlawfully killed". Speaking to Chronicle Live after the Newcastle inquest, Pete Mitchell said: "Kate was murdered in Nairobi and the prime suspect was found dead at the scene.
