The free calculator – helping people discover unclaimed benefits - will assist 11,000 households in identifying £75m in unclaimed benefits. Nationwide is the first financial provider to also make the service available over the telephone – tackling digital exclusion. ‌And it has urged the Labour Party government to make accessing unclaimed benefits more straightforward. The calculator - accessible to everyone, not exclusively Nationwide customers - was introduced in collaboration with social policy data specialists Policy in Practice, during a period when approximately £24 billion in benefits remains unclaimed annually.
