Councillors gathered last night to consider a Tory group motion calling on the local authority to budget for 100 new grit bin, on top of the existing 190 dotted throughout North Tyneside. ‌According to the motion, the new bins will cost around £12,500 and £15,500 in annual running costs. Coun Liam Bones said: “We all know the council doesn’t have the resources to grit every residential street, every footpath, no matter how good out intentions.
